How Do You Practice Mindfulness?

Mindfulness in itself is a very simple practice once you have been shown how to do it correctly. We are all used to our thoughts rushing through our minds.  Our minds race from one thought to another.  One moment you may have regretful thoughts about past events or experiences and the next minute you find yourself anxious about an event that may happen in the future.  Very rarely do you find yourself focused on what is happening ‘right now’.

With our training, you will gradually learn how to slow down your racing thoughts. Eventually, your mind will settle down.  You will learn how to live with more awareness of what is happening in the present moment.  As you improve your Mindfulness practice you will have healthier relationships with other people and your own mental wellness will improve.

During your course with us, we will train you in how to focus your attention on one object, usually your breath or another sensation in your body.  At first, you will find your mind wandering and you will lose focus. Gradually your mind will become calmer and your thoughts will slow down.  This will make it easier for you to focus on the present moment for longer periods of time.  Mindfulness training will also help you to become less judgemental and less likely to overreact to situations where you felt out of control previously.  The practice of Mindfulness, although simple, can be life-changing.
